Virginia A. Overstreet Kelley

Virginia A. Overstreet Kelley, 81, of Athens, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at her residence.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Fred Issac Lee and Sevilla Marie Clayton Overstreet. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Hoyt Kelley, on Nov. 4, 2008; one son, Gary Richard Kelley; and two brothers, Robert Overstreet and Willard Overstreet. She was a former employee of Ridge Textile, Beaunit Fibers and the TWC Library. She was a member of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Randy Kelley of Athens; one daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Sam Brackett of Athens; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Juanita Webb Powers of Niota, and Betty and John L. Kyker of Niota; three grandchildren, Kelli Brackett, Adam Kelley and Lucy Weeks; two great-grandchildren, Samuel Weeks and Alexander Weeks; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Bryant, the Rev. Greg Hutsell and the Rev. Ogle Wattenbarger officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Roger Leamon, Shannon McDaniel, Kenneth \"Butch\" Farrell Jr., Kevin Snyder, Ronnie Coffee and Rex Webb. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Overstreet and Scotty Clark.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
